While enticing people to visit a liquor store might not seem like a challenge on a college campus, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is launching a major effort to get more Pennsylvanians over age 21 to do just that.

In the coming year, the PLCB will be re-branding its 621 stores to "create a whole new shopping experience for Pennsylvania consumers," Patrick Stapleton, chairman of the PLCB, said in a statement.

The article published last week entitled, "College presidents open discussion on drinking age," discussed the re-opening of a dialogue about the current minimum age to purchase and/or imbibe alcohol. It aptly described the positions of both President Dan Weiss and representatives from the local chapter Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Athletic Department officials are overhauling the season-ticket policy for the men's basketball program in an effort to transform the student section into a more formidable sixth man.

Starting this year, participants in the annual tradition of The Line - the surprise nighttime announcement and overnight Palestra bash where students trade sleep for tickets - will now get a general-admissions pass to the stud ent section of the Palestra, rather than a reserved seat for every game.

On August 29th, John McCain presented Sarah Palin as his running for Vice-Presidential nominee. I was ecstatic with his selection, as I was hoping she was going to get the nod for several weeks, but assumed it was going to Romney.
