One Christian's view of holiday

On Christmas day, in the midst
of buying gifts for their friends
and families, when many say XMas
instead of Christmas, when
many appear to avoid saying
"Merry Christmas" and instead
say Happy Holidays, my personal
view of Christmas is that it is a
time to give thanks to God.
It is with great joy that I am able
to write this article about my Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ and that I
am also able to bring forth some
background on how our country
was founded on the Christian
faith.
Christmas time is a wonderful
time for families to come together,
enjoy one another's presence by
catching up on things, joyfully
opening gifts, and reflecting on
the past.
For born-again Christians, however,
Christmas is a time to come
together with their fellow brothers
and sisters in Christ, and to experience
a heartfelt time of worship
and thanksgiving for all the good
things the Lord has done in our
lives; the most important gift
being the gift of Jesus.
If it wasn't for Jesus, I wouldn't
be the person I am today. If it wasn't
for Jesus, I might not even be
alive at the present moment. If it
wasn't for Jesus, I would've never
had the life-changing experience I
had in June of 2006 that I cherish
every day.
According to President Obama,
"Whatever we once were, we are
no longer a Christian nation - at
least, not just. We are also a Jewish
nation, a Muslim nation, a
Buddhist nation, and a Hindu nation,
and a nation of nonbelievers."
However, the founding fathers
of this beloved country were
not on the same page as Mr.
Obama.
Thomas Jefferson once said,
"No nation has ever existed or
been governed without religion.
Nor can be. The Christian religion
is the best religion that has been
given to man and I, as ChiefMagistrate
of this nation, am bound to
give it the sanction of my example."
John Adams once said, "The
